Bent Gabrielsen qualified as a goldsmith in 1949, after serving his apprenticeship in Copenhagen. He worked for Hans Hansen for many years, later designing for Georg Jensen after Jensen acquired the Hansen line. Gabrielsen won the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1964. This exceedingly rare MidCentury sterling silver necklace designed by Bent Gabrielsen for Hans Hansen is a wonderful example of his outstanding design work.A gorgeous piece, it is comprised of a sterling silver neck ring and 6 sculptural rings. The rings are strung on the neck ring and are free to move, each measuring just over 1 in diameter and 1/4 wide. In excellent condition, the choker measures 17 and closes securely with a hook. One center ring is hallmarked with Hans Hansen signature, 925S Denmark and design number 359. A highly collectible investment piece.
