This rare and outstanding Swedish sterling silver and blue enamel necklace and earrings have the MIC - three crowns silver standard marks used by Anton Michelsen designs. The earrings have ABA hallmarks indicating Atelier Borgila.
Necklace: Very Good Unpolished Condition 1 1/4" width x 14" length The necklace is a choker style with radiating inverted rounded triangle concave links that are articulated with blue enamel centers that look like shark's teeth. The simple hook clasp impression is marked Sterling Sweden. The terminal link nearest the hook have these hallmarks: 3 crowns within a trefoil shape is the Sweden National mark, I9 within a square representing the date mark 1959 S within a hexagon indicating the National Control mark MIC indicating an Anton Michelsen design. Research indicates that Michelsen set up a subsidiary in Sweden and for some time after the makers mark used for jewelry produced in Sweden was MIC. The Earrings: Very Good Unpolished Condition 2 1/8 length Screwback style with matching concave links in sterling silver and blue enamel.Earrings have a round sterling ball where the screwback meets. Hallmarks include the three crowns National Sweden Mark ABA within a rectangle shape for makers mark Atelier Borgila H9 within a square representing the date mark 1958 S for the National Control mark There is another mark within a circle that is difficult to make out. This appears on the necklace as well. Warman's Jewelry book has a near to identical necklace made by Atelier Borgila in 1958.
