EGGERT PRE FLORA DANICA DANISH DESIGN 1950s VINTAGE 22KT GOLD PLATED ROSE BROOCH. Rare Eggert brooch from Eggert Denmark Sterling. This rose is sterling silver coated in 22k gold and is a stunning piece of 1950s jewelry. It measures 2 1/4" long by 1 7/8" wide. The pin on the back of this brooch is in good working condition, but it's a bit hard to close, so, please, keep that in mind & close it up gently.

Orla Eggert devised a way to use real plants and cover them in silver so this was once a living rose bud growing somewhere in Denmark till it was plucked from obscurity and dipped in silver before being gilded in high quality 22kt gold like a rose from a fairy tale and over 70 years later it's made it's way to you across the world.
