The modern solje also can be worn for holidays, festivals, or to adorn the National Costume. The heart and crown shape is known as the "first solje" and is meant to symbolize the wedding crown. Three columns of ornate wire work florettes are acented by reflective concave teardrop-shaped "spoon" dangles in gold vermeil meant to reflect the sun and protect its wearer.
