VERY RARE LATE 1800'S/EARLY 1900'S TRONDHEIM ROSE DRAGESTIL PIN/PENDANT BY HENRIK MOLLER. VERY RARE AND VERY LARGE TRONDHEIM ROSE DRAGESTIL PIN/PENDANT BY HENRIK MOLLER.
Offered is a VERY RARE large 830 silver brooch/pendant combo by the extremely famous Norwegian silversmith Henrik Moller. This is a VERY RARE and extremely LARGE example of his Trondheim Rose design.
In fact this is the LARGEST example I could find in my research. Most of the pieces in this design are under 1.5 inches. This STUNNING piece is 2 3/8 inches across and weighs a heavy 36 grams. It can be worn as a brooch pin or as a pendant. This piece retains the old very dark original patina and has not been polished.
We choose to leave it up to the new owner whether to polish or not. It is signed H MOLLER 830 TRONDHEIM on a plaque on reverse.
SIZE 2 3/8 INCHES ACROSS. Much of his work drew on designs found on early architecture of his native Trondheim. Astute in business, Moller catered to an international clientele including a number of Europe's ruling houses. Examples of Moller's Dragestil silver can be found in the Kunstindustrimuseet (Museum of Arts) in Oslo and the Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum in Trondheim. We described the item to the best of our abilities!
