Bent Gabrielsen qualified as a goldsmith in 1949, after serving his apprenticeship in Copenhagen. He worked for Hans Hansen for many years, later designing for Georg Jensen. Gabrielsen won the prestigious Lunning Prize in 1964.
This exceedingly rare MidCentury Modernist sterling silver bracelet designed by Bent Gabrielsen for Hans Hansen is a wonderful example of his work. A gorgeous kinetic bracelet, it is comprised of a sculptural arm ring which forms into an arc bearing 7 dangling sterling balls. In excellent condition, it measures 5/8" wide with an interior circumference of 7 1/2", and wears very comfortably on most wrists. Signed Hans Hansen and marked 925S, Denmark and design number 254. A highly collectible investment piece.
