Vintage mid century modern sterling silver Viking brooch by Finn Jensen, Norway

Vintage mid century modern (circa 1975) sterling silver Viking Longboat brooch produced by Norwegian silversmith, Finn Jensen. Modernist design beautifully hand crafted in 925 sterling silver.

Stylized Viking longboat carries six Viking figures. Design was inspired by Nordic rock paintings from 1000 - 500 BC discovered in Alta Norway. Overall excellent vintage condition with no unusual wear or repairs. Has light age patina and has not been polished. The original brooch pin and rolling lock clasp are in fine working condition.

The reverse side of the brooch is hallmarked "925 S Norway" along with the silversmiths V - shaped makers mark which is formed by the makers conjoined initials. Measures about 2-1/16" in length and 7/8" in height.
