Vtg 14k Gold Viking DRAGON Boat Ship Charm 1.9 Grams LongBoat Pendant 3-D Detail
This longboat is highly detailed, from the stepped design of the hull, echoing the lines of the rigging, and the circles decorative rail or oar ports? To the expression on the dragon's face and rings on his curvaceous tail. It is dimensional and two-sided, fully decorated on both front and back and will look great, careening around as you sail about. It measures about 9/16" tall to the top of the mast by about 7/16" long, stem to stern.
It weighs 1.9 grams. It is signed for the maker on the (now unsoldered) ring that was cut from the bracelet to which the charm was attached but I cannot make out the letters, as they are where it was cut.
It is also stamped "585" for 14 karat gold, which is a little hard to read as it was double stamped. It acid tests for 14 karat gold. It is in Very Good / Excellent vintage condition with just expected surface dirt, light scratches and a little tarnish. This is a wonderful charm or pendant with a lively, detailed 3-D design. Perfect for collectors of gold charms, Norse history, ships and nautical artifacts and of course, jewelry, it would make a terrific gift, although I doubt you will want to part with it, and it will sail out of here in a gift box, just in case.
